Martini’s are always a popular drink, no matter the season and my favorite martini just happens to be a Manhattan because I am a fan of rye whiskey and Carpano Antica, an Italian vermouth.  However, there are a few other martini’s I enjoy like a Dirty Martini with a big splash of olive juice, and a skewer of bleu cheese olives.  During the fall however, I start to think about apples and pears, and how I can incorporate those flavors into a festive drink.
Pears are mild in flavor, yet enhance a cocktail with fall taste without being overly sweet. A pear martini made with Creme de Poire, brandy and vodka creates a smooth and subtle drink, perfect for sipping this time of the year. It’s a nice cocktail to serve at small gatherings, or for a quite evening at home. It will definitely set the tone for the next few months to come.
Ingredients
4 ounces vodka
1 1/2 ounces creme de poire
1 1/2 ounces brandy
fresh pears for garnish
ice
(Makes 2)
To Prepare:
1. Â Place all cocktail ingredients out for preparation (mise en place).
2.  Fill your cocktail shaker and glasses with ice. I love a chilled glass!
3.  Add vodka, creme de poire and brandy to ice filled shaker.  Shake, shake, shake….
4.  Dump ice from martini glasses.  Strain cocktail into each glass.  Cheers!
